Fastest UK cars for standing Kilometer (0-1000m)
HEy guys,
recently a Greek friend managed a 18.3 sec the standing kilometer with his amazing Lancer EVO VIII with a trap speed of 294 km.
Actually he let go at 920 meters where the speed was 303 km from a miscalculation of the passenger.
So whos faster if there is any?
Again 18.3 seconds for the kilometer with 294 km trap speed on a STREET LEGAL EVO VIII...
Lets see some times guys!

We don't really work in KM over here.
My little RST does 32 seconds to 1 mile at 163mph, so I'm estimating that your friends Evo is about 10 seconds quicker to 1 mile.
Get him to time 30mph to 130mph if he has the means to do it accurately. Sub 7 seconds and I will be impressed!!

Happily retired
294kph=182.7mph
That means it did 0-182.7mph in 18.3secs in a kilometer.
Well my 18year old shed has a 0-180mph time of 17.82 although over here we done measure at the Kilometer. So accleration wise its no faster than an old Ford.
Kieth Cowies Skyline does 0-300kph in 12.7secs now thats fast.

Norris Evo9 does 0-150 mph in 8 seconds..
so that leaves him 9 seconds to gain that extra 32 mph..
and does 30-130 in 5.06 proper unbelieveable, especially for a street legal motor.

Our Sunbeam does the standing kilometer in 19.1secs at 180mph,so not as quick as yours but still good for a RWD car!
In qtr mile terms our best to date is 11.0@137mph.

Hi Alan,
It would certainly be quicker to 100mph if it were 4X4 and this is a possible mod in the future.
However a 0 - 100 of 7seconds with RWD and road legal tyres is still amazing IMO especially when you consider its a 30 year old car!

yes it would do that easy.
if you look at the logging it only took about 2 sec to go from 180 mph to 200 mph
Its still pulling very strong at high speed.

Keith thats surely impressive...
My friend's car actually improved his time with a 17.8 @ 314 km for 0-1000m.
The car weights 1420 kg without a driver and it can easily be considered street legal as it has a full interior + roll cage and until now he is running on 17s with BFG T/A Drag Radials...
Now he is on a strict and quite expensive diet but he might decide and use another 0.5 bar that he has available...
We ll see...
