Actually I'm having another fitting flash back I think you actually need to tap into the block to mount it aswell Harvey would obviously take care of that aswell, so its probably not that far off

The reason that it looks the same as mine, is because it IS a picture of mine that has been used .
Hopefully, they will be the same internally, otherwise you're wasting your money .
The Ł750 price from Harvey includes all the Goodridge hose AND fitting (as long as your engine is stripped down ready for a rebuild), which requires the sump being modified, as it has more ports than normal for the returns / drain.
The breather can already be purchased through me with everything you see in the pictures below as a supply only for Ł600 + delivery

If you note, mine has been further modified (hence how I recognised the pictures ). Spot the difference?

Mechanic28,
The way you have yours set up is fine for a road car, but on track where excessive crank case pressure can build up, your oil won't be able to return from the breather tank back into the sump (until the engine is shut down). This is why the correct application is to put the drain to below oil level in the sump, so that there is no pressure stopping the oil from returning.
Your existing breather can be modified to do this, and is exactly what I had on my old engine - just a Bailey three port set-up, but draining to the sump and breathing from the existing flame trap area and the port that you currenty use as a return .

hmmm
might prove easier to do this than fit my GGR setup as im after the standard look
i've just got an aeroquip shipment coming over from the US aswell, doh
what does it use? -10 or -12?

with an adequately designed breather system there is no pressure in the crank case mike, however there will be a return flow issue if you return it below oil level. I feel 10 pages of arguing coming on i mean discussion with you mike lol
Before you start your argument mike I mean discussion get yourself a bucket a funnel and some pipe fit said pipe to funnel ,fill bucket half full insert pipe into said bucket below the level ,fill said funnel and time it to empty, repeat the process but this time lift the pipe above the fluid level say 1 inch report back with results

No arguement, we will just have to agree to disagree, as the WRC set-up and all the Cosworth race-cars I have seen go to below oil level. You use your way and I'll stick with the right way .

I have edited my above reply
I am right you are wrong I don't care that the wrc cars were like this the motorsport 909 sumps were designed below oil level too they didn't work and the port was blanked off in favour of above oil level return.
Mike pressure is pressure if your crankcase is pressurised that pressure will be acting on the oil too so it is worse to return below oil level next you will be modifying your turbo oil return to return below oil level too

Someone asked earlier, yes they do need a catch tank, usually under the wing.....the 22mm silicone hose goes from the top of the tank to the catch tank, on a standard sump, we weld a boss onto the front, -8 return to beneath the oil level on the back of the engine....
The lower M4 bolt is usually bored on the block, so just need a tap running down it, some of the proper ones had a 22mm tube into the block as opposed to the standard 19mm hole.....so be careful with second hand breathers on standard engines....
They are the only neat solution to the breather on the YB, personally I hate blingy breathers....lol
