Need some advice or input please.

Im off to Cornwall tommorow so only have the morning to sort this out.

Got a letter from Barclays saying they mistakenly put £200 in my saving account and would like my co-operation in the matter and have arranged to take £200 from me on 22nd Nov.

I never had any money put in my account
I have an online savings for a Rs when it pops up. So i put money from my acount in the savings every month...so id know if £200 appeared.

Last month however £800 appeared and i went down barclays and told them. They took it out and apoligised.

What can i do tommorow though???
Can i refusse to let them take the £200 out my acount?? ive never had it....and if i did then i sure dont remeber any extra cash to play with.

Any help me??

 

have they not got a branch open tomorow or you not have telephone banking? they will have to show you when the money was paid in surely have you got all your old statements still?

 

Ask them for evidence of this transfer

 

I dont get statements. The branch is open tommorow but im setting off at 11am.

I always check my account everyday online.
When im paid i move £300 into my savings. Thats always on the 1st of every month.

So £200 on the 22nd August going in would stand ot to me, even in my normal barclays account as my wages are my only debit and they go in on the 1st of every month.

I cant get online statements from august only September.

I know tommorow they will do what they can to get money from me or use some threatening lingo on me.
I have no idea where i stand regarding the law and as they admit in the letter that its their fault if then they can actually touch my account?
