And, a military unit we've also worked on
Different to the bit plant units as mentioned in the thread, but pretty cool all the same

This is the big beastie I hired to dig out my new double garage - Takeuchi 3 tonner!
This was a before photo of the site - note Phil2400 off here pissing around - nearly got the thing to roll over
Quite easy to drive actually, wonder if I can have a go with Dave Cos 4*4's 82 tonner next? I managed to shift approx 280 tonnes of earth over 3 weekends with the little bucket!

The road was a mess, and it took bloody ages to load up due to limited room and the trailer being nearly as high as the bucket at full stretch!
The machine may have been quick, but the operator was less so! I chopped my BT cable by mistake, despite knowing where it was. I scraped the main powering the street lights, and I flattened my wall and a washing line while digging.
Can see why you folks do so many hours training and working up towards the bigger machines!

Hi Danja
well to be honest JCB 803 (3.5Tonne) V's Hitachi Zaxis 35 (3.5tonne)
jcb 803 has a rapid movement speed , great power very fast tracking system in fast track mode , great digging power
weak points :jerky operation systeam (controlls) ,keep breaking hoses hydraulic pumps break wearout quickly
great machine never the less when working
Hitachi Zaxis 35 ,compaired to JCB
smooth operating system , better stabillty , longer lasting parts ,
bad bits
slower digging @ full revs , not as powerfull , slower fast track
alot slower allround but reliable
we dont keep no machine more than 4yrs from brand new

best way to get experience is to get your tickets on the machines you want then you will be issued with a red cpcs card you then have 3 years to gain 300hrs experience and then an nvq assesor will come out and check you are still operating safely then you will be able to get your blue cpcs card which lasts for life i think
the best way to gain experience is to sign on with an agency and explain that you are newly qualified and they should send you to sites which arent too full on hope this helps
