Evo 8 for me, but them I'm biased!

M3 for fast classy motoring, Evo for fast and fun motoring

Both great, choose what suits you best, me I'm a fan of 4x4 and love the in your face looks plus tuning potential is far greater IMHO with the Evo.

Very different cars really.

Ones really a point to point rally car which is a buzz to drive..

The M3 is more a cruiser, not saying it's not cappable cus it fooking is..

M3 for me - IMHO the better of the two cars overall. But the price reflects this.

EVO is the cheaper to buy IIRC!

FAO SIB - my engineer promised to get back to me on your beam tomorrow!

Well i have an Evo VII FQ and do around 200-250miles a week and it is quite expensive to run

Goes into Mitsubishi tomorrow for its 3rd main dealer service in less than a yr's ownership. add to that the price of 2 clutches inc flywheels and a set of disks and pads all round and its getting very expensive.

Saying all that though i never bought the car to penny pinch on so if thats what it takes to keep it going then so be it.

I have been looking to change to an M3 myself of late but it would have to be a CSL

Obviously the M3 is fast but put both on a country road and the evo would piss all over it

I can't believe you still haven't made your mind up what car to get!

You have bombarded MLR since January 2006 with silly questions, like 3 or 4 reposts asking what colour to get, what wheels to get, what's the best colour, what Evo is the best to buy, what's best an 8MR or a 9, how much is a service, how much are Evos, what's fuel consumption like, how much is road tax.... blah blah blah Totally ignoring the fact that MLR has a brilliant search facility for answering all the above questions.

Not content with posting each question once, you have to repeat it 3 months later...

You also posted that you would be getting one at the end of 2006, yet 12 months later you still haven't made your mind up!

Please buy an M3

TBH M3's arnt perticularly quick, just a good luxuary all round car. An EVO would hammer am m3 every time, but it is an unfair comparrison as they are designed for very different things as said before.

I managed 177mph on the way to Paris with my mum on Board Only mods were derestricted ECU and a AcSchnitzer exhaust.

It would sit at 150-160mph all the way week in week out for all Rugby world cup games..... my mum thought it was plenty fast enough!

and on one trip back I cruised back at 80mph with the roof down all the way loaded with 3 people and more cheap booze than you could shake a shitty stick at and it did over 30mpg

Simply best all round car out there in my opinion

Can't believe I have posted on one of Dicky threads though. Jesus the man is an even bigger waste of bandwidth than Ima

SHIT OR GET OFF THE FUCKING POT MAN!!!

Too boring? - you've just bought a car which is known to flatter drivers and do most of the work for you

have owned them both the M3 is no where near as much fun as you might be led to believe, the MR FQ340 will blow your socks off!
If you are only doing small mileage then go for the the EVO.

The M3 has lots of qualities that make it a better car, eg refinement and build quality, but if you want a huge amount of fun for a very reasonable amount of ££ (£18k?) and dont have to do big miles you cant beat the EVO MR.
