and some of the 70's stand ups were hilarious, the likes of frank butcher, des lawson and that stand up comedy club stuff that airs soemtimes very late at night on some dodgy channels like bravo etc

he came from that era of comideans that made you look forward to learning stuff, not just being funny and clutching your sides laughing
and he made it look easy, you could imagine him chatting away in the pub and you'd undestand all the jokes, some of the newer guy tend to make you read a peper or soemthng when they start telling jokes, half the audience understands, the other half (like me) normally prod their mates saying, whats so funny?"

This thread has made me realise I haven't watched a good stand up for AGES... So I watched Chris Rock "Never Scared" last night - AGAIN He cracks me up tho.... I know he's very Richard Pryor, but still funny as fuck!
so I've downloaded a shit load of classic stand up - 2 more Chris Rock ones, another Bill Bailey one, a Jimmy Car one, and the classic : Peter Kay "Live at the Top of the Tower"
That should keep me going for a while.... Hopefully till oct next year when we are off to see Lee Evans live at the o2 arena!

Lee evans and Jack dee are great. Have all there dvds, plus seen them live.
Like ricky gervais aswell, especially in the office and extra's.
Really dont get billy connolly or harry hill. Just dont find them funny in the slightest

Lee Evans - first time I watched one of his videos I was in tears on Christmas Day morning a few years ago....was the Live in Scotland one & for me its the best by far!!!
