Default Clever rat?

we think we have a rat in the shed, theres alot of crap in there like most sheds i guess?
Anyway things have been moved, things fall off the sideboard and are on the floor in the morning, bag of grass seed has been raided.

Anyway we put a old skool rat trap in there, bit of cheese on it, set the trap(which was really stiff) the rat is a gonna we thought but no this morning the cheese had gone and the trap hadnt even gone off

Clever rat or something else like a mouse maybe, that could take the cheese and not disturb the trap?

Shouldnt really need to buy 3/4 traps though, how can a rat get cheese off a trap without setting it off, its a new trap aswell so its not rusty or anything
Bloody thing, i will stand in there with my co2 air pistol i think

Why not put rat poison on the cheese on the rat trap

It'll be well chuffed it's got the cheese without setting the trap off...

The amount of poison you need to actually kill a rat wouldnt fit on/in a piece of cheese
