The first time I ever really went fast was in a 2.4 Cosworth that had been built for a Greek guy by Power Engineering, must be 10 years back now. I never have since been in anything as quick as that..... I don't mind a bit of pace but that was scary. Proper scary.
Second quickest is Guzzlers EsCos and someone I used to know who bought an Evo 7 when they first came out.

remember learning to drive and doing 30mph wasnt a problem but getting up to national speed limit sort of speeds seemed fast as fuck
before i got into bikes etc, fastest thing i had been in was a mates 2.0 turbo Nova, still want to own one of those at some point, was just a right laugh especially when it was white with orange rust spots on it
first time i went really fast on a twisty back road was on my old gsxr 600, and the way that makes you feel is simply amazing, dont think any car will ever replicate that feeling of stringing a few bends together quickly on a sports bike the bikers will know what i mean

140 in the passengers seat of my mates RST at bruntingthorpe,
checking the afr to see if it was gonna melt. lol
didnt feel that fast though as its so open up there
on the road, the same mate in his 1900 205 showing me just how
well they get round corners...it was horrid lol..
400 bhp esc cos with custom beam etc, 909 suspension
and a nutter at the wheel... round a quiet roundabout.. that too was pretty horrible! lol
apart from that.. any point you are in a car driven by Fudgee feels about 40 mph too fast

The first time i remember going fast and knowing what it was, i was about 14 and my uncles mate who when i think about it now was probably half pissed took my down to an off-licence to get more booze for a big party my uncle was having, was a Ferrari 348 and all i can remember was him snaking all the way up this big hill and on the way back almost breaking my neck when we pulled up
Also remember my firs time in a Cosworth, was my mates Magenta 4x4 saph only stage 3 but what an animal and boy he could drive, this was 10 years ago and we / he lol was never beat by anything Bikes cars you name it
one solid memory going up the A127 towards south end he passed about 15 cars all gunning it one by one they had to move over and at the very front was a 911 with number plate T3RBO he moved over at what the clock said was 160 and just kept accelerating
Not saying his car was faster than the 911 just that he shit out and all the other cars were out accelerated
Back in the day eh

19 years old, passenger in Mike Rainbird's saff, at well over 170mph!
Then a flat out run in Bruce Read's 3 door, followed by an Autobahn flat out effort in Martin Hadland's pre-gumball spec Reyland Escort at probably well over 180mph.
Managed to fall asleep in the Reyland car as well - fuck knows how!
All very VERY fast!

PON, what a shit selection of cars to have to be in
pmsl @ falling asleep in Martoons car though
I think my memorys of going fast had to be when my brother borrowed my mums Manta and took us for a blast round Blackpool ! There are a few areas where you can get BIG air and lots of sideways
More recently and to this day the fastest thing I've been in is my engine builders old saph, 533hp rwd and he happens to be a ex grasstrack champion so he isn't afraid of sideways at any speed
Respect where its due, he even got thrown off at Silverstone for overtaking the DJ Invicta V8 Mk1 flat out sideways through Coppse (sp) corner
I have no doubt the next thing I go in of his will be the fastest car I will ever go in

Borrowed my dads Audi 80 Quattro when I was 18, and got totally sideways on a long sweeping bend.
It slid to a stop 90 degrees to the direction I was going in, I was shaking all the way home after

My mates Nova GSi was sooo fast when he first got it
Then my bro got a valver nova and we thought it was the fastet car ever.
Then went out in RW's rs turbo and got fright.
The first proper fast car I had was my pulsar at prob 300 bhp.
Quite weird to think the cossie will be the fastest car I will own in my life, I mean its an old G reggie

Happily retired
Whats Fast its all relative to whats normal for you.
Remember reaching an indicated 23mph on my new racing bike down a very steep hill as a teenager, blimey that felt like the speed of light.
Back in the 60's a fast car was anything that could exceed 100mph & drivin a modded Cooper 'S' felt very fast indeed, it sowed the seeds for a lifetime of fast cars. Owned an ex Gerry Marshall modded Lotus at one stage & thought nothing could be Faster, but how wrong can you be.
For sheer speed exceeding 200mph was a real buzz but that was at Brunters & the sensation is blunted, on the road a Stack corrected 195 felt much faster & I backed out of attempting 200mph as the road became too narrow & their were other road users to consider, that was probably my ultimate rush/scare & its very unlikely I will attempt such a feat again.
Mind you I still get to drive fast cars whilst Mark is mapping & thats really is scary as the Boss uses his favourite phrase ' I said keep it floored'.

I can remember when I was 17, I had my mk3 escort, and there was this guy driving round in his RS Turbo, brand spanking new, I was like
Fastest car? Define fast?
Mr. AndyBrews car was the 1st cossie I went in, blew my mind (and thanks for that mate! )
Fastest car Ive driven is Martin Shuters prolly, 440ish bhp 4x4, awesome....
BEST all round car was probably AJ's evo 6.5 TME, that was just a completely different car altogether - I bet he misses it! Would have lLOVED to drive it after the mapping but Id had a beer
Fastest Ive been is prolly in this car I have now, speedo was reaching vertical and still pulling like a bastard but the gearbox let go

First genuine memory of being scared due to speed was as at 11 as a passenger with my late Uncle Chris at the wheel. Then working as a recovery driver for the relativly high end car dealer (well for our particular bit of N.London) called Colin Alabasters. Me Unc' regularly got to play with all sorts of flash motors.
So, he turns up at me ol' mans gaffe in Edmonton in a shiny black Jensen Interceptor III, after badgering him as only an 11 yr old can, got a spin round the block. Just remember 120mph+ down Picketts lock hill (concorde speed back then) and the sheer fear ( Jenson' brakes were pathetic even back then) as, unable to pull up in time, we ploughed across both lanes of a busy Montague road, then screaching to a halt, in a cloud of smoke, an inch from the garden wall opposite.
Totally pooped it, but was a mega moment to a acar mad 11 yr old

Always had fast cars since I was 17, stared off in a manta GTE which isn't bad for a 17 year old , which no doubt became the cause of my rear wheel drive obsession, then had an uno turbo, then a chipped cammed astra GTE 16v when I was 18, then bought my first Cossie at 19, a stg 1 RWD saff, felt like the fastest thing in the world then .... Was planning on a 350 BHp build after it had blown up, then went out in Ian@ Raceteks Escos, and one trip with ALS on (one of the rare occasions Ian pressed the throttle to the floor ) had me hooked . So was quite happy going for 400BHP with ALS, then went out in Broms old T4 saff, and I don't care what anyone says, unless you have been in a T4 car running 38psi ( or upwards )then you don't know what brutal is ..... utterly ridiculous, me and my mate (4x4 Ste off here) were giggling like a pair of girls, trouble is now anything under 400BHP seems boring

First time was in my old Ferrari 400 a few years back down a local "private road" racing a porsche 911 was well scary as was only 19 at the time......
Second time for me was in my vectra stv6 down a "private road" part of the A1 at 147mph last year
Then today doing 105mph on another "private road" part of the A1 on the way back from Newcastle in my 1.1 Fiesta......Did'nt even think it would go that fast and was well scary with the car weaving all over the road, and still standard spec....high rise suspension and 13" steelies lol hahahaha

Having a go on a mates RD350YPVS when I was 16 (i had a Yamaha 60cc FS1E at the time ). Fuck me it felt fast especially when I did a huge wheelie by accident on it.
But the best one was back when I 19 when I had just finished putting together the FRZ600 ex race bike I had brought in carry bags. Quite a bike back then - engine had seen some work, dyno-jet kit, termignoni exhaust.
Anyway I had never ridden the thing before, wheeled it out on the road only to find my mate standing there waiting for me with his crash helmet!lol So this was the first "big" bike I had ever ridden, dark, fast as fook with a pillion!lol
We proceeded off at a very slow rate until we got to the some big 60 limit roads. And fook me it was fast, we were both giggling like school girls every time I did some straight line 30mph to 140mph blasts. It felt so quick to do it and the sensation was awesome not to mention how quickly you could slow it down. A good hour of fun we had - fook knows how I managed not to crash it...!

I went in a mates f40 down a straight stretch of country road. We caught up a car, blew past it, turned round about 1 mile down the road and past them the other way - it looked like they were exactly where they were when we 1at passed them. 175 mph on a country road lol

My first really fast experience was on a bike (I love fast cars but the bikes more of a rush) It was an RG500 and it was a proper pocket rocket, got up to about 110 over the foxholes (on the way to the East Coast) and felt like my head was coming off!! have gone much faster since but those were the days.
