I go into Essex police workshops for my job calibrating equipment
very clean, no-one works hard, all the best tools laying around, seems to be money no object there, guess it's where our council tax goes

PassionFord Post Whore!!
i know a lad who does this and as said, money no object and the times they work to are generous, i.e. service & cambelt = a day.
That said D&C workshop techs isn't that much more money than a main dealer tech. £16k iirc.

If the rest of the country follow Notts Police, there won't be any Generous times or easy days anymore for the Techs or weekday only work.
Notts Police cars are privately (PFI ) owned and maintained and as a result 98% of the fleet is always available for use.
As a council tax payer I'm pleased, as a motorist I'm not.

I applyed for the same job where i live. It was 18 grand a year to start off with and it went up every year. It was 8.30 to 4 every day no weekends and it was flexy time. I went for the inter view and i had to do a practical test,eg doing a timing belt on an astra Cop car. I was gutted that i didnt get it.
