Default New Focus ST

Did anyone see the new ST today in the sun newspaper?? Looks pretty cool. Problem is, I've just put a small deposit on a 56 plate ST3 which is almost £17000. I'm now worried about what the value will be worth next year when the 'face lift' model comes out. Is it worth waiting and seeing if the prices drop on the current model and losing my deposit or just go for it??
Your advice would be appreciated

Seen it today in the paper, liked it alot !!

The prices in the st`s are coming down and doesn`t look to good for the pre-facelift ones im afraid mate, think i might look into getting a new one tbh, but iL see how i get on in the rs just now

its crap from ford though, a cheap and easy way of making more money !

Id save some money and get one with low miles for aound 14-15k or wait and add a few quid and get the latest one

Cheer for the advice. Its actually Evans Halshaw I'm getting it from (there are the only ones I could find selling a white one) and there weren't too happy when I said I'm cancelling. Tha salesman I'm dealing was off today, so I only spoke to his gaffer. He said is there anything they could do to change my mind. I said 'well drop the price then' which he wasn't prepared to do as the salesman was off and he will ring me tomorrow. Might be interesting if he can magically drop the price

Sod the price unless it can magically drop to under 15k id never do it

Because when i roll by in the new version youl feel crap and the fact yours is nudging down in price because of it...

Just put a bit too it and get the new one i say, makes sense

is that all true? anyone from ford on here who can back it up?

i work in a main dealer and everything on that page is news to me. when the new mondeo was launched the dealers knew about it easily six months beforehand! seems extreme a new focus is out month after next yet we know nothing!

Couldn't agree more!! The front on the facelift looks like the new Mondeo and the back.......don't even start me on how crap the back looks the only good thing about it is the front bumper, put it this way i had a choice between buying the facelift model and buying the 500 (in the current shape) and tbh i'd rather spend my money on the 500, if i was not buying the 500 i would defo stick to the current shape without a doubt I want a Focus not a Mondeocus

headlights are horried and the grill is too narrow, thats why the new one is nicer, and face it, thats why its been changed.

From those pics of the new ST i wont be changing for a new one. Have to admit the current shape looks a whole lot better. Not to sure about what is meant by the comment on the link from the sun motors. If there is 07 plate ST's for sale for less than £9000 i'll sell my 06 and buy one of those and have change left over.

im sorry but please dont tell me the above pics is the new st. If so, what the hell are ford doing. That no way looks sporty, u sure thats not the ghia model goin by the design of the wheels. That is awful if thats the sporty st model. God help us

Its like the latest mondeo, have u seen the standard wheels that the lower models come with. They look tiny! and one model i saw had these tiny wheel (prob 16s but look tiny on huge car), that had loads of spokes. Horrible.

I wish i could get on the ford design team. Ok, i havent got degreees as long as my arm but fuck me would i know how to release descent looking cars

I don't know where on earth you get your ideas from m8 but for as start the mk1 focus did not have the indicator in the headlamps, so how you can say the headlights on the Mondeo are more like the mk 1 Focus is beyond me, I think you need to do a little more homework

Wasting money?????? I don't buy a new car with profit or loss in mind. I buy a car purely because i want it Loss etc has no bearing on the decision Could be worse.......I could be wasting my money on drugs but i#d rather have something to show for my money

All depends on what you class as a mk1 focus, but seeing as most people class the c170 focus as the mk1 then you may find that you need to do a little more homework on the indicator in the headlight

I have always liked the ST,but think that new 1 IS that bit smarter, and better looking.
bet that front bumper lets in some much needed cool area, and room for a propper I/C.

Put things in to context these are £18 grand Fords of course they lose money, but so do £60 grand cars. The new ST looks ok, not a big enough difference to even think about trading mine in.

Just hoping that Ford europe grow some bollocks and bring out a big bhp 4wd RS

theres not much difference with the focus st and the new one whats coming out. the performance figures arnt a world apart its just a easy way to get money.

Either way its always good to see a new car coming out
