Tile over tiles? Pros and Cons
Can this be done
The bathroom is tiled top to bottom at the moment and looking to move bath and fit shower and change it around
Just thinking its a hell of a job removing them, also not sure whats under them.
Dont want to end up having to re plaster the walls

yes they can be unibonded and tiled over. There is even a bonding product now that once applied allows you to plaster skim over them. I wouldnt but you can.

From personal experience being a blind man when you tile on tile it makes the window frame very narrow usually so any type of blind ect you will usually get gaps down the side and normally doesnt look too good tbh other than that and it making the room smaller dont think it matters a lot

if ur happy to tile over them then do it.
i decided to take mine off and the next day i was at wickes ordering 7 sheets of plater board.
a weekend later and my bathroom had all new walls and ceiling.
but in the kitchen a had all the tiles off with just a wallpaper scrapper in about 10 minutes.
all depends on who fitting the tiles and how well they done it.

Its a good backgrounds as any uneven areas of the wall have already been got out with the existing tiling so thats a bonus. As long as you you put plenty of unibond on theres nothing wrong in going over....
