still struggling to remove gearbox mount? help needed please
ive been struggling removing the gearbox mount from my mk3 escort, so i opted for burning it off:
got the rubber off (out the way any how) but now im stuck with the bush on the mount which i cant remove? i
is there something that needs doing which maybe ive missed? cheers

That will just be the corroded alloy holding it in.
You have 2 different metals (steel and alloy)
Cut it off and you run the risk of having the bit stuck inside without being able to use the rest as a lever to get it off.
A good soak in WD heat up the bolt, a vice and a lump hammer should break the corrosion crud and free it up.
When you rebuild the new one use copperslip on the surfaces to stop it sticking.
Its the same as having an alloy wheel stuck to the face of a hub the two metals just need a whack to free them
