both front tyres are starting to wear on the inside.so took the car to a Wheel alignment garage yesterday..
so car goes up on the ramps. all details logged into there computer and the bloke says to me.what pressure do you put into your tyres ????
30psi i reply..and he says its not enough
and throws 40psi in each wheel try that he says..the car setups slightly out he said but use 40psi till you get a new set of tyres then come back to me..
i was there about 3/4 hour he never tried to sell me any tyres and never charged me a penny
THAT MAKES A CHANGE
the car felt ok on A and B roads but a soon as i got onto the motorway the car felt really Skitish ..so i stopped at the first service station and lowered back down to 30 psi..and the car felt stable again
Eagle F1 215/40/17 Y all round and its a coss4*4
ps.its not a backstreet garage bloke knows his stuff & got all the latest equipment..just carnt understand WHY SO HIGH PSI 40![Confused](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_confused.gif)

We currently use the Hunter DSP 600 4 wheel aligner with the extended lift.
As you can see on the above picture, targets are placed on each wheel of the motor vehicle.
Your vehicle specs then get placed in the computer and measurements are then done by cameras to find out what the wheel alignment reading on your vehicle is.
Remember that 4 wheel alignment is there to bring your car back to manufacturing specifications.
Adjustments are then made , and you will receive a before and after printout when all work has been completed.

At a guess running 40psi will slow the wear rate on the inside of your tyres as they're over inflated and the inner edge might not be touching the road anymore.
