Why gas , gas distorts the metal cos it gets to hot. you want to use a mig welder mate.

Under 200 quid? Are you kidding me? Do you want the job doing properly or cheaply? At my bodyshop i charge 150 an arch from start to paint finished so for 200 quid you are not getting the job done anywhere. Rough price from me would be 600 thats for factory finish not just slapped on and undersealed.

i think the person is asking for a recomendation of a good welder that he can buy to restore the car him self and also be able to have a co2 or argon gas bottle attatched.

ive got a small SIP welder, only takes the small disposable bottles tho so thats the only downside, great for small car work tho if you can set it right (takes alot of time to get used to it and setting it!)

Try the Clark catologue

they are online also

they have plenty in your price range that should be up to what you want.

But as ever you get what you pay for.

If you just want it for this job and the ocassional future job these should be fine.

Check the cost of your gas first, the little cylinders you can buy and throw do not last long and BOC bottles can be costly with the rental etc.
