We're shipping it over to Auckland, owners a top bloke! but what a pain in the arse he's going to have getting it on the road out there, he was saying it needs a fog light (
) proper seat belts, new number plates (as unlike the UK, you have to have NZ plates which are a digit short) and he thinks it may be too low!!........... Looks like we aint the only country to have an anti car policy! ![Rolling Eyes](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif)

He was saying that the original cars came with steel rims, and the aftermarket mod was Minilites! And I think that was the only thing Ford did wrong. But its a sexy car!

I live in New Zealand now and yes believe me some of the bloody rules concerning cars are madness. You can't comply Escort Cosworths to go on the road as they don't meet NZ "Frontal Impact" standards, however they did sell them here and there are a few around so what difference do they have? Also when the cars are then 20 years old you can comply it as a Classic, so again what bloody difference does it make wether it's done now or later?
If you put a set of coilovers on a car you need to get a special certification from some tit who basically lifts your car and checks you have tightened the bolts up(what about all the at home mechanics that put on 2nd hand shocks to get their 1988 Toyota Coronas through a Warrant of Fitness/same as MOT). This certification costs $350, then if 3 months later you want to say put new brakes on........ you guessed it $350. So the best idea is to do EVERYTHING you want to a car and have it certified once, but who EVER doesn't want to tinker on and on......... believe me the rules out here are hilarious.
On a side note, don't think he needs a fog lamp, when I warrant cars in work it is a case of if it has one it must work, if it doesn't then it is fine and doesn't look too low from here, think as long as chassis rails are over 100mm of ground it's good.....
