Default GPS Timing Gear Vs Timing at the Pod ?

Guys

We had a Thrash yesterday at Brunters and they were using the in car, GPS receiver on the roof to do the timing.

How accurate is this compared to the more traditional timing set ups you get at drag strips ?

Santa Pod is VERY accurate I believe

It must be considering the drag series they hold there

The time will be pretty damned close but the terminal speed will read higher on the gps due to it reading actual speed at the qtr.. whereas pod measures the average speed of the last 66' or so.

As an example... on gps i got 133 terminal speed and with the same spec i got 129 at pod.
