removing crank bolt for belt change
I had a go at swapping my mates cam belt when we changed cam pulleys today and we just couldnt lever the bolt free, WD40 and a 2.5ft bar was employed, 5th gear and brakes on and the car was lifting but I couldnt crack the crank bolt!!! any ideas how to remove these apart from scaffold pole?

keep the pressure on, eventually it will let go
or, read stus article about torque, if the nut is done up tighter than you are trying to undo it, you'll need a longer bar
i used a 6 foot scafold bar and lent on it for about 15 seconds before the bolt turned, but i've been told that vineger will also undo it if sprayed around the bolt
