Default Just Bought A House!

Me and the missus just bought our first house yesterday!

Really chuffed! It's a 1 bed house just now, but is huge, so we're converting it to a 3 bed to make a bit of a profit!

Can't wait to get stuck into it as it needs EVERYTHING done - double glazing, velux for the attic conversion, kitchen, bathroom moved completely as it's off the kitchen just now - so that means bigger kitchen too!

A lot of work needed, and we'll be skint, but will be worth it in the end!

as you say you bought your house. I pursumed the OP has borrowed the money using a loan, if hes paid cash then theres no problems if priced were to drop or to even.

Good luck to you just don't get so tied up in doing it just to make a profit, as you'd be supprised the costs involved in the real world

aye, we're no JUST doing it to make profit, we're gonna be there for a few years before selling it.

Luckily, my brother-in-law owns about 30 flats, and is very knowledgeable and connected when it comes to renovating etc, so he drew up plans/prices before we even put a bid in, just so we knew whether we could afford it or not. Obvioulsy it will probably go over the estimates, but never mind.

He's just made a £200,000 profit on his house, so he's definitely the man to have on board!!

well, it was maybe more like £170k profit, but his mortgage is 200k less than what he just sold it for!

the house was on at offers over 62,500. We really wanted it so bid 80.

we could get a mortgage up to 118k so it's still well within our budget. We had about 7k deposit, but decided not to put one down and just use the 7k towards getting it done up
