Default How many bhp with these specs ?

Was wondering :

YB standard bloc with standard cr
bd10
T35 0.63
Siemens 55lb
Large intercooler
30psi

Would say around 350bhp, but how much torque ?

You should be able to see nearer to 400 on that if its mapped right IMHO

Also forgot to say antilag 2 stages (mild and agressive). Would the bd10 be a better option than the standard ones ? Not interested in high-end power tho. More by large-band torque.

In my limited experience of BD10s they dont really do enough to be worth the effort of changing them, and the exhaust cam on the YB is pretty well matched for a T34, so I would just put a BD14 inlet in and leave the exhaust cam if it was me and I was going to change the cams at all.

Antilag wont effect the peak power.

i run a standard engine with a custom roller bearing turbo and see 360bhp with 23 psi peaking

so with 30 psi i would imagine you to be getting high 300? low 400?

Yes well I am more interested by torque or having a more stable engine, so would prefer to have strong mid 350bhp rather than having to think about "what will break when I'll push that pedal to the floor". Main aim is large torque range.

Leave the Exhaust cam as it is, i'd opt for a BD14 IMO, live mapped with a T35.63 and 30 psi, i'd image 380ish with similar FT.LB...

You've siad you're not botheres with top end so much, so why not try a .48 hosing, you'll still get 350+ BUT it'll be nice and punchy, makes for a great road car..

My old 3dr made 363 bhp and 360 ft.lb with this setup..

There's not much that will trouble you then..

Yes, a 0.55 would be nice, but "problem" is I got a 0.63 T35 maram shafted to I better use it with mild antilag and when I want extra response, go for wild antilag. Would a head-work improve response too or would it be too much money spent for low improvement ?

Head work is Exspennsive yes, mine cost 2 grand i run Anti-lag through the Autronic and Launch control aswell, it's not a fully blown WRC style anti-lag, more for fun really, but it's BLOODY loud i'll tell you

You'd need to watch your transmission with anything upto 400bhp aswell, 4wd tend to break..

Yes, this is why I want to stay under 400bhp. I know that what breaks gearbox is torque, but I belive if you drive it correctly (not changing gears like a pig or something like that) the standard one would cope with 500Nm.

ive used bd10s for months on a t3 and t34 i found the car more agressive past 4.500 rpm. I changed back to standard cams boost peaked at 4000 rpm rather than 4600rpm on the bd10s the car had more midrange and was smoother altogether this was on a t34.63 to end with. So my opinion is standard cams for your spec and a .55 housing would be a lttile less laggy but loose a little yop end

So changing timing on those BD10's didn't help? What gear did you test it? Since 4000rpm peak boost on T34 sounds lagis.

Yes I am considering .55 option too at the moment. Still, what is the difference in peak boost between the .55 and the .63 housing ? I mean with a good mapping you can get quite a lower lag with .63. Heard 3500rpm is possible. But if the .55 can peak at less than 3000rpm I could be interested.

It did go well

Not sure why turbo died, used Silkolene oil, allways let it cool down after thrashin
Few T34 cars that had been mapped to 35psi at MSD had no probs, including Stu's own car

Yes, really great figures, just a shame the boost comes that late. I am really considering 0.55 or even 0.48 but I'm afraid the 0.48 would be too small.

I cant really add to any of the above, but I can reinforce it.

I am running pretty similar setup. Mild head improvement combined with T34 0.63 on Siemens 55c inj combined with big intercooler etc etc.

Car is on std cams and mapped by our good friend Stu at MSD.

Cant give you an official power figure, but I can say that Steves (Cossie4i) was dynoed at about 360 odd bhp, and his bum dyno reckoned mine was pacier.

I have always guessed it to be at the 380+ mark.
