They are strangley addictive... Goes against everything I usually go for, ie 2 seater drop top, no turbo, no midrange grunt, etc..

I really like them. Not exactly rapid and fook me are they sensitive to tyres/tyre wear and geometry ie I had worn inner edges on front tyres and when backing off acceleration it'd pull the steering violently. I put a set of the correct tyres all round (can't remember what they were now, bridgestone s2000 specifi tho, s201?) and it was perfect.

Yup, owned one for about 6 months after buying it from an import auction, great fun little things, pretty quick but you have to work hard with the engine and keep the revs high!! Would definitely have another on though (although not in yellow!! )

superb cars, i love it.

there is not a lack of midrange or lowdown grunt really, it's just that the top end is so strong that it feels like it - like how a turbo car feels when off boost

i had a weeks driving holiday in the swiss alps in september, and it was just perfect for it.

check out some pictures if you're interested

we stayed in interlaken. a nice little town, ideally situated for various activities. the most exciting in the week we had planned for me was driving these 3 alpine passes - the grimsel, furka and susten

parked up at the top of the grimsel after a foggy drive up. the s2000 dispatched slower traffic with ease, and with the ESP switched off would happily slide out of the hairpins

looking across the valley at the furka pass rising up the side of the mountain

at the bottom of the grimsel pass, looking back up to where we had just come from

halfway up the furka pass, loking back acroos the valley to the grimsel pass winding it's way down the valley across the river of a melting glacier

this really reminds me of switzerland and is my favourite picture of the holiday

paragliding over interlaken (nothing to do with the S2000, but cool anyway )

on the way back we maxed it out on the french autoroute - well, that's what you pay tolls for isn't it, turns it into a private test track?

and then stopped overnight at a chateau

at the end we had superb entomology collection

it was an awesome holiday, all centred around the car. i will do it again next year, but in the scooby for a change or on the bike. but the S2000 suited it perfectly. superb in the mountain twisties, great fun at 9000 rpm in the tunnels , happy to cruise around the towns with the top down, and at home speeding across the continent with the roof up and a/c on

awesome pics

i don't agree one bit about them being gay either

i can only really afford an early one, but it seems to suit the occasional car mould very well

155kms??? I take it you changed the speedo over to KMS?

I had an S2000 and tried the same trick with my mates.

Rev counter is a giveaway!

Grant well spotted

didn't quite get to max it out, as the autoroutes were only 2 lanes and not any big enough gaps. did get it up to 246 kmh though, which is 152 mph, although the speedo is about 10 mph out at that speed according to tomtom - had some more left to go though, given a long enough distance

bud-weis they are not shy at going sideways and have a very tight slippery diff, so be careful as the early ones do not have ESP - hence why most of them have been put backwards through a hedge

i need to drive one, but the only 1 local to me is out of my price range and i don't want to book a test drive knowing full well i won't buy it

A friend of mine just bought a accident damaged one today actually... They are stupidly expensive here, like everything else. The first ones sell for at least Ł25000

I had one last year and loved it in the summer

They are quite small inside though, and the steering wheel doesnt adjust up high enough, but you get used to it.

In the wet they can catch you out, you think your taking it easy and then just loose grip at the rear, done this on me twice at pretty low speeds.

spot on

they are not really small inside, but it seems a tight fit when you first get in - it's mostly because it is entirely designed around the driver. but then as you say, the steering wheel does not quite go high enough for proper sized european men. there is quite a bit of storage space actually, and two of us had enough room for a week away in the alps where we also took hiking boots and cold weather clothes for being up the mountains and glaciers.

later ones have honda version of ESP, so as long as it's switched on it will mostly prevent those arse twitching moments that do happen quite unexpectedly
