Default What's better?

I need red bulbs for my rear lights.

Am I better to get standard style bulbs, or the red LED ones?

Cheers

The lights I have are clears, with the brake light sections tinted red, so using normal white bulbs is no good because they shine through too much white.

I have red bulbs in just now, but the paint or lacquer is coming off, so the lights are shining through some white.

So I defintely need red bulbs, just wondered which was better before I go buy 'em
