She might not be lasting very long then, im 19 and cant afford to be chucking fuel in it like that, been looking at some figures, i think its a mindset thing i had for 2 years golf diesels and its just that mpg was always the best thing about them!
If you try though can you get them upto 30?
And yeah the noise is incredible.

Are you sure you are not looking at the instantaneous MPG reading if your
car has this option ????
Those figures will frighten you like on any other car.
My ST does 27 to 28 mpg average on a brisk run.
Very happy with fuel consumption.....Especially after having a cossie for 15 years

To be honest im not sure how to use the trip computer but i know its the average. its a st3 so i presume it will be fitted with instantaneous readout aint got that far yet though. 27-28 sounds great, that would be fine. Its in getting valeted and a new starter motor fitting and il pick it back up next weekend. Il have to loook at the bright side was amazed at insurance of only 1200, and car was cheap.

Is the car remapped?
If yo believe what it says in Fast Ford mag the ST is mapped for stoich even at WOT for Euro 4 emission reasons. This means that a remap which richens it up for max power under wot would significantly decrease your mpg.

insurance is through farm.
ITs a 56 plate st3 odne 5000miles, and i paid a lot less than what its worth.
I can afford to put fuel in it but its weather i want to spend all my money on fuel. tom

Best i've got on my ST is 38mpg if i put the right foot down ill average between 11 to 13 mpg. When i plugged the dreamscience unit in and loaded race+ it made no difference to the mpg but when i put a k@n 57i gen2 into it i cant pass a petrol station without having to fill it up

I'd exepect about that they are known for poor MPG.
just becuase its a 2.5 turbo is not the reason though....
BMW do a 2.0 litre turbo with an extra cylinder that does WAY more than that! And its RWD (worse for mpg).

Today, Phill2400 driving his Standard ST3 did 145 miles, used 37 litres of fuel which works out at 17.8mpg.
My 320bhp Evo did near exactly the same journey, (bar 1 local run less), did 132 miles, used 33 litres of fuel which works out at 18.2mpg.
That was fast A Road and motorway work, with a bit of a racing / hammering as well.
I thought my tuned Evo was bad till I saw how much fuel Phill put in the ST for virtually EXACTLY the same journey and same amount of thrashing.
Evo's aren't renowned for their fuel consumption, same now goes for Focus STs...
They do look and work well, especially in ST3 full black leather trim, and painted in the finest Electric Orange
