Default Engine Mounts

Currently I have new standard Ford RS Turbo engine mounts on the car. I am thinking that with running all this extra power that Ford never intended, are the standard mounts going to be up to the job?

What are Vibratechnics like, and how much?

Thanks

Good, they out last the ford mounts, but you will gets more engine and gearbox noise in the car, " they do stop the engine crashing around in the engine bay "

Cheers

Tony Tony Tony,

You have been in my car. It has Vibratechnics Mounts, Standard Ford Side Mount and a B&M shifter. So you should know what that is like. Yes you do get more vibration, but thats mainly at idle. I don't really notice it to be honest.

As for price. Fiesta Centre - 01603 722333. Have a word and they should do you a pair for around Ł80.

I have heard about using them, but if I change them, I might as well get the proper things

I have vibratechnics mounts in my mk1 Orion. Of course different to mk4 escorts, but they create wuite much noise at 4000-5000rpm. Some kind of chassis resonance propably. Well worth the money anyhow as the Ford mounts are more expensive and I've teared enough of them to peaces.

BTW, Deflex now does polyurethane S2 engine mounts for 9Ł each!

having had a erst running 22psi boost i can quite happily say that ....
vibratecnics ones are very good .... i had diesel ones they still allowed too much movement from the engine... i never noticed any increase in noise tho...
