Default Thinking of setting up my fish tank again....

It's been a couple of years, but I used to run 2 large tanks, one a 3 foot with lots of small community fish int here and one a larger 3.5 foot with some bigger stuff in it.

I ended up giving the 3 foot tank to BigMouthBillyBass off here a while back. Now I have to get the big tank out of my dad's house and I was thinking about getting a stand and setting it up here at my mum's.

Just need to have a good think about what to put in it..... Deffo tropical though. Marine is too much hassle!

I think I might start breeding Siamese fighters again too.....

Any suggestions on a good set of smaller/smallish fish?? Gonna use real plants.

i wouldnt mind trying my hand at breeding siamese fighter's too

dwarf puffers are a nice touch, we have 2 in one tank and 1 in another, theyre in with other small-medium sized fish, and we've encountered no problems with them being aggressive etc.

another of my favourite freshwater fish is the Apistogramma

and also blue rams and bolivian rams

Fighters can be very frustrating to breed but also very rewarding. Are you sure all is peaceful in that tank?! Kribs are usually quite territorial and the puffers can be nutty also!

Yeah all is well, tank theyre in is quite large 5'x2'x2' (just shy of 600 litres), no nipped fins and they all mix together ok and have been together for about 6 months now

The dwarf puffers are ok, but as far as im aware you're just either lucky or unlucky with regards to their temperement, we must e lucky as they dont bother anything, that said they are only 2cm long

Those Rams look smart

Best looking fish I had was a very colourful Green Terror, he really was striking.

I got rid of him though as he would not live with any other fish at all

not very, easyest way to keep a shark really, as when they're born they know no better, as long as water is fine then its just feeding them and a tank of a large size.
they sharks i get only get to about 3foot, can't remember the species they are though, i'm ar work at the min so can't find out iether.

even for the horn shark, i'd say a tank with dimensions of 10ftx4ftx4ft.
so jacko, that will cost you thousands.

Tank looks nice. Just re-done mine, 4ft, black background, black gravel (well, tiny black glass bits) and just 3 big rocks. Looks a lot different to before where I had just normal gravel and loads of plants.

Default fish breeding!

those tanks loog really good buddy!!!

i keep orange blotch malawi just now got some really nice ones too,
couple at 7" or so?
tried my hand at breeding them too but the males i had were far too aggressive in my tank and just kept on mauling everything in their sight
fookers have lots of teeth and once they start the frenzied eating its like watching pirhannas circling round and round then they go hell for leather!
