Its almost 2008....and there are still villages that are suffering, but we have seen a lot of money ploughed in from the government and EU to redevelop the area....from when labour got it. Fook all was done under the tories after they wiped us out.
So for the 100(?) years prior to them closing the Gov wasn't doing anything?

TBH Lee, you live "oop North" so saw this far more readily than myself. However, if you base an entire area financially on a finite resource. What exactly do you expect to happen when it eventually runs out or becomes less than profitable.

And Yes that is a Good sig.

Best to leave them to their blinkered view of the state of this country, no doubt they'll all jump ship when Labour and the fat c*nt go down, and a new, ELECTED leader takes over.
Do you copy and paste your answers to save replying each time? Your like a stuck record ffs.

Someone has a different opinion to yours so they are hollier than thou or rubbish your opinion LMAO
Not as much as you spout the same bollocks over and over and over.

The holier than thou was aimed at you, as whenever there is a debate on anything, there you are, trying to belittle others because of their opinion. Unusually for you, you haven't replied with an insult.

Stuck record? Not me, I think you should take that title for yourself.
where have i tried to be little others? Find me the quotes out where ive done that. All ive done is voice my opinion like you have. The difference being mine isnt a schoolboy type of reply And your thinking of going into your own business? Id grow up first........
If thats not belittling someone......

As for starting a business, it's not happening, unable to raise sufficient capital. So i'm now enrolled on a HGV traing course, funded by myself, as there is no financial help available in my local area. Different story if you're not of English origin though, guess I've got our great government to thank for that.

Yup the tories started the influx of immigrants so thank your government for that(if your a blue that is)....
Well good luck with the HGV course, i think youll regret not giving the business a go though....

Rich, the areas economy and finance was based on that resource as that was the main industry and what the villages were built for, to house the miners. And dont forget it had a major knock on effect too. There is still 100 years of coal left under Barnsley so it was hardly going to run out in my lifetime....and like global warming YES im selfish and only think about what happens in my lifetime.

Im not turning this post into a why the pits should have stayed open or not as its done and dusted, my point was Rich PON frankly has NO IDEA what its like to 'go without' His post on the subject is quite frankly ignorant..'' i have a house, car and moblie phone but no qaulity of life''...my heart bleeds......

You all seem to forget that its Gordon Brown who's been the chancellor since labour came to power, who's kept the economy in check, enabled slow and sensible growth in the country.

Far be it from me to say most of you have never had it so good, but when I left school under the tories there were 3 million unemployed and we had to move to the south just so my father could get work to support his family.

Now unemployment is almost unheard of.

Home owners have had years and years of low interest rates on their mortgages.... under the tories it got to 15%

But half of you arent old enough to remember and those old enough have a selective memory.

I'm not saying all in the garden is rosy.

But its not bad.

And Gordon is right not to call an election, why should he ? he's got 2.5 years to build his own track record rather than riding on the tails of Tony Blair.

That way the people will be voting on him and his leadership rather than him taking one in the ass for Tony.

Was that more what you were looking for Andy ?
