Dell do a dimension 2400 pc for about £370, but you can get for only £261 if you do the following
Specs:
2.6 Ghz Celeron
256mb DDR RAM
40GB hdd
DVD/CDRW drive
Windows XP Home
Speakers etc.
Go to www.dell.co.uk and click on 'Home & Home Office'. Enter the E-Value code 305 - D1025 in the boxes at the bottom of the page (this takes you straight to the appropriate package).
Change Support Services to 1 yr Collect and Return. Click 'Update price' then click 'continue', then 'continue' (again), then 'Add to basket'.
Enter code 2CH8N$N0BGN5V9 for a further £40 off giving the total of £261.91 including VAT and shipping.
hope this helps

What money/hassle am I talking to upgrade that to a P4 (and keep the 2.6GHz) and double the RAM?
40gb HDD I can live with (got a 9gb now lol) and the rest is cool, but all this talk of P4 and 512 RAM makes me want it

Done a bit of exploration and found you can get the Dimension 3000 (instead of D1025 replace D1035) for £306
similar spec, still not P4, but bigger HDD and 512 RAM

How about buying the system without monitor and then going for one of these......

At least then you get 3 years decent warranty on the monitor and you can go for 1 year on the PC.
