Default Would you change anything in your life?

Just looking on Facebook at friends I went to school with, most of them at Uni now, quite a few at Cambridge etc etc. and was just thinking if I hadn't of pissed around at school, I'd be there, but really I didn't fancy uni or any more studying so started working for a bank, earning alrightish money, which does me well...

I'm sure my 'rents were gutted I didn't attend uni, but would anyone change anything about their life????

Bit of a deep topic I know but just interested.

I would change things if i went back

But ive never regretted anythin ive done

its about the journey not the destination

And as the greaat Colin McRae once said " were here for a good time not a long time"

we all have the power to change things in our lives just very few have the aptitude to do it

There are some things that I regret, but can't change! You just have to learn from them, sometimes the hard way...

Grass is always greener IMO I know loads of people I went to school with that when through uni and got their degrees and now can't afford to buy etc as property prices are so high. In fact most of them didn't even end up using their degrees. On the other side I know loads of people that left school early without even GCSE's that have done really well for themselves.

Life is only as good as YOU make it don't dwell on what could have been..

I sure wish I bought more property 8 years ago

Nope, my life as it stands is the best, I am happy and healthy and I don't regret anything about the way I have lived up to now, never regret anything that made you smile.

There's 3 things I would change.

2 are personal
1 is Career based.

To be fair, of those 3 the outcome would of been probably the same but I wouldn't look back with such shame

theres no point regretting anything you've done unless its something really bad

all the things we do shapes us into who we are and who we become

Id have had more fun when I was at school instead of working so hard, your early social experiences broadly define who youare later on.

I would have picked a nice 3 year mickey mouse degree instead of a 5 year vocational one as it genuinely makes bollocks all difference in the modern world apart from how much work and how many years of your life you waste.

Id have broken my car last winter instead of letting my determined streak force me to finish it to the way Ive always wanted it.

I wouldnt have made the error of placing my trust in a female.

thats about it, but live and learn, move on!

i cant decide. about 5 years ago my parents divorced after being seperated for about 2 years, they both remarried to their new partners straight away, my dad and his new mrs along with hert two kids moved to southern california and me my mum and her new partner moved down to somerset for his work. i was at the end of my 4th year in highschool and missed out on my gcses and obviously lost alot of friends (luckily the genuine ones i still have). i sometimes wish i hadnt moved from stoke and id seen through my gsces, stayed close to my mates etc. i also wish sometimes id taken the oportunity to move to america with my dad and his new family a few years back when it was still an option.

when i moved down to somerset i started college doing aerospace engineering at college, did that for three years then fucked up getting into uni or onto another course so ended up moving round in fairly shit jobs for a couple of years, now ive tried to make a bit of a break and go self employed doing cermic tiling, which isnt working out as well as id hoped. gonna stick at it though.

at the end of the day, everything thats happened to me and the things ive done have sent me down a certain course through life, and im hoping in another 5 years ill be able to look back and the choices i make NOW will have worked out, and be happy knowing that i wouldnt be there if it wernt for the past 5 years...if you get me!

never heard that quote by colin, but its dead true! i try to make the most of life knowing that it wont be long before im 6foot under!

If you wish you had gone to uni why not go now? I done it late and was the best thing i have EVER done. Was a fantastic four years, i have done things i could have only dreamed of if i stayed in the path i was heading, it has now opened a LOT more doors to me than before, i have a shit load of top memories and experience and i have freinds from all over the world.

How old are you mate? Do it if you can, i jacked in a full time job, ok you got to be careful with money and wont be able to afford a house for a long time but still theres more to life.....

I regret not going straight to uni, but then if i did maybe i would'nt have appericated as much if i did

But like said its all down to personal preference, some people like doing other stuff etc. So you just need a long think. YOu wont be able to get into uni for a year anyway... so a long time to think it over

i should have bought the house i was going to buy with my compo money and then carried on as normal instead of the cossie

but if i had done that i wouldn't have done what i am happy doing now, and would have been stuck in a bit of a dead end job

and i wouldn't have met the mrs and had junior either

mind you, i have to work long cunty hours now to pay for everything, but you change one thing you have to change everything else

regrets? yes, plenty
changing stuff is a bit differnt
