These were the IN THING to have when i was still fooking about with my 1.3 escorts etc LOL...so never researceh owt about em.

Whats happened to em...and what were the downsides. ??? Did they really give you 10bhp or so extra?

Oh and Bosch super 4's

Most fancy spark plugs are a gimmick. I put my 9's in the bin a couple of weeks ago......

ok .. so if you had the super four things in a cossie as its an open spark area would it blow the spark out as the piston came up ????

The only advantage of muti electrode spark plugs is that they last longer as there are a number of surfaces to burn away!, the spark will still only jump between the core and one of the electrodes - there is only ever 1 path of least resistance for electricity

Splitfires are SHITE! I put them in my very first 21turbo about 5 years ago - earthed the amal valve out - which upped the boost by about 2/3psi - 2 days later I had a hole in my exhaust valve due to the end of the spark plug melting & going through it!!!
