Higher octane fuel may be needed.
heat builds up more in the pistons and in the cylinders.
pinking may occur.
Depending on how higher compression your talking but the power gains may not be that high at all.
Better throttle response.

It would be on a standard RS1800 zetec engine with cams and maybe kight headwork and get and get an MSD chip in and run on super unleaded.
Then maybe throttle bodies at a later date.
