i got some hi spec ones but to be honest they are not a lot of good.. the spacers that go in the std calipers that they supply to fit the 32mm wide disk are shite and i had a real problem stopping mine from leaking and the disks warped and i cant really notice any better braking.. they cost 500 new and i wish i had waited and got a second hand kit with some good calipers.

I`ve got a Compbrake rear-kit, IMO the quality is shit. did need professional machining to fit.

it`s actually worse than shit when thinking about it.. the brackets needed to be skimmed as they were to thik and the 4 holes in the senter of the disks were to small and needed machining to fit, real pain in the arse. Lot of english products seem to be semi-fabricated.

i will be looking into getting some calliper spacers made and brakets to space the 2wd 4-pots out to take a focus rs disc some time in the future

seems to be the way to go.

yeah, but the focus rs calliper is only better than the cossie 4-pot in the looks department, you wont find that the callipers themselves are better than the other

why's that then?
it's a bigger caliper, lighter and has a bigger pad

don't they?

thats utter nonsense the brembo isalot bigger and i can honestly say its like night and day against the old ford 4 pots no fade atal and i can brake a hell of alot later on the brembos

the brembo is almost double the size of the ford one

theyre not Ł1000 for nothing

do you want to make me a set

what discs did you use

i take it that i will need to split the caliper and add a spacer

sorry for all the questions

not really, im no pro

what discs did you use

they were second hand AP discs, about 30 something mm thick (although worn from new) on bells of unknown offset

i take it that i will need to split the caliper and add a spacer

yes. i just got some thick aluminium plate and cut it to shape, drilled the small holes for the fluid and then drilled the holes for the rubber seals on the spacers using a wood bit

sorry for all the questions
no probs, answers in text above. i found that braking was improved immensely. calipers also needed to be ground down on the outside edge to give clearance to the RS 7 spokes, even with 5mm wheel spacers. and i had to have the balancing weights placed specifically but they were superb brakes.

i just made the mounting brackets from some thick steel plate and a couple of spacers that i had lying about.
