Surely on newer cars you will not be able to turn it off if it's all run through the ECU/management as well?

DONT unplug or disconnect the ABS Pump........On the cossie this supplies the brake boosting pressure(Like a servo) the correct way to stop a cossie ABS is simply to cut one of the fluid level wires on the cap(the one with the square plug that clips on securely)this disables the ABS without switching off the pump and losing all of your brake pressure....

Not sure Mark, maybe a different system.....depends if it relies on pumped pressure or has a servo and the pump purely sorts out the ABS function...

Will investigate further....

Take the fuse out or unplug the rear abs sensor harness. 2 minute job and just plug it back in when you want it on again

it has a vac assisted master cylinder, so i guess the ABS pump only comes on when in use etc.

what fuse is it to pull lol?

Dave ZS - do you mean disconnect the plug by the rear beam for the rear sensors?

cheers all

thought so, ye just unplug anything so the ecu sees a fauld and puts the light on which in turn disables the abs, may have to take the bulb out tho if you can or if its an led put a bit of tape over it or it will get on your nerves!!!

Yes mate, just follow the wires back from the drums to the middle of the beam. The 2 go into one square block that just unplugs. You can just leave it there as it should be clipped in place. Could pop a bit of tape over the contacts so they don't get dirty, but just plug it back in when you want the abs back on.
