Garrett Turbo Styling??
Right im about to buy a turbo for my engine build. Being second hand im going to send it to get rebuilt to save any problems.
But before i do this id like to know how they can be painted/anodised etc as ive noticed some people have done this
Like one the Turbonetics-GT-K turbo
what limitations are there to turbo styling?
Matty

is it wise to paint one or will it seriously effect the cooling of the turbo?

how would any finish's effect heat dispersion? (dunno if thats the right word lol)
i wouldnt have thought it would prevent the turbo cooling ?

all turbos look the same i want to do something different

i think the best thing to do is ceramic coating defo, keeps the heat of the exhaust gasses where they should be and the inlet air temp where it should be too! (inside the pipes!!) think il be using camcoat to do my stuff seem very professional. looks much better than heat wrap

Compressor housings can be anodized as normally they're aluminium.
Exhaust housings would need to be ceramic coated. Zircotec can do them.
I've seen a GTK turbo looking quite tired after 5000miles
