Default HELP Escort Kombi owners

Right i might have chance of a nice kombi van at the right money and i have a few questions i need help with,

1, Where do you go for insurance as i've tried an online quote on confused.com and it doesn't list the kombi,

2, I'll be using it everyday and as it has rear seats fitted i want to put my kids in it so how does this affect insurance as technically speaking it is a comercial vehicle,

Any help on this would be very much appreciated cheers, Grant

I found in the past that you have to have it insured as a van not a car.... which is dearer

A lot of mainstream insurers won't touch commercials either..... best to get old skool and phone the insurers, you'll get put on the right track a lot quicker than aimlessly scouring the net.

Zurich do insurance to cover it. When I was 17, I was quoted on my fathers one Ł500 TPFT, when an equivalent car model was Ł900

A friend has a 1.6 Diesel model converted to RST with full RS-replica look and only pays about Ł400 FC.
