Default Spring compressors in Manc this weekend??

I am trying to change the rear springs on my sapphire this weekend. However, I don't want to take the brakeline off to allow the bottom arm to fully drop down. I just dont want the agro of bleeding the system again until I get my new front calipers.

I have these sort of compressors for the front

but cannot get them on the springs at the rear.

Does anyone have a set of these

that they would be kind enough to let me use on saturday? Or would someone help me bleed my brakes if I take the line off.

I am just off Junction 17 of the M60 in Manchester.

Many thanks guys. Beer and Pizza will be provided

undo the main meab mount that has the 3 bolts in it

this should allow you enough to just get the old spring out, plus std rubber hoses give you a bit more aswell to be able to get the arm down a bit

just make sure you dont snap the bolts that hold the plate onto the chassis

Any pics as a guide??

I have never touched a rear beam before.

Looks like I will be taking off the brakelines at this rate

We have that spring compressor at work Phil although its powered by compressed air. If you cant get your compressors on the springs you have no chance of getting that thing in there!

Cant see why you would need to disconnect the brake lines. It should be fairly obvious how they come out once you have a proper look at them.

have a look where you put the standard ford jack t the back

you will see aplate that bolts to the jacking point with 3 bolts

2 x 17mm bolts and 1 19mm bolt

the 17mm are a pain as you you break th ecative its going to be a lot of fun sorting it out

if you undo these bolts the front of the beam will drop and with bit more pressure you can get the spring out

When you undo the shocker bolt from the bottom arm, the bottom arm drops down a few inches............. then stops because the brake line runs accross the beam, then jumps down to the arm.

I will have to stop round tonight and show you so you get my drift
