sorry to ask 
but looking at the 3series atm thinking of either the 330d or the 330i is there much difference in the two performance wise?? also what sort of mileage should i stay away from when buying??? as 90% of them seem like space ship mileage, any other info welcome

Its a no brainer in my opinion, similar (or even better) performance and better mpg.
I wouldnt worry too much about miles mate unless its mega high and your going to do alot yourself. depends how much you have to spend as to what mileage bracket you can expect i suppose.
