toyo t1's are crap imo and even worse in the wet lol
a good budget tyre but thats all

I'd say the good old Toyo R888 then mate

They are like a soft/medium compound cut slick, aimed more at trackdays and fast road etc

I'd go with something a bit more sticky.. toyo also do t1-r's, yokohama parada's which are quite cheap or for something really sticky toyo R888's

I'd go with the 888s for your usage as well - just as an aside though, there is a big tyre test in EVO mag this month - test car is a Mk5 Golf Gti - fwd , 200bhp ....perhaps pertinent to your enquiry esp for the road use aspect

i found the t1-r to be good in the dry but shit in the wet and have just went to dunlop sp9000's which seem much better wet or dry.

I managed a 9.10 round the ring in a Astra that was running them.

Amazed me how bloody good they are
