i all ready have a oil breather on my cossie but thinkin of getting a baileys one with the catch tank that sits near the air filter, anyone got one?wot u think of them etc??is there any drilling required to fit the tank?i take it that u no longer need a pipe under the car as that goes to the catch tank?

best fitting a seperator that the 2 pipes from block and 1 from cam cover go to with one returning to the sump then one going to the catch tank. ggr do a proper one like this and i think the spec are ones are the same? not sure if bailey ones are tho. depends what sort of power your after i guess and how old your engine is

i run a baileys one on my cossie.
but the bottom goes to atmosphere, and has never dropped oil from it.
and thats on a 450+bhp track/raod/sprint car.

my current one i got from racetek years ok one goes to the cam cover one to the oil breather under the inlet manifold one goes to the the block on the exhaust side just above the sump and one goes under the car just not sure whether the seperator is any good from racetek and this is where i got my greens from and chip(which was shit!)

The mirror image tank does both functions as has 4 ports. I have return to block turbo side, link into old flame trap inlet side and return to sump inlet side. Then i have a vent to atmosphere under the car.

Paul,
You had any probs wit the Bailey turbo filter boltin directly onto the turbo ? ? ?
I kept snappin them
Caused an engine bay fire on my last cossie, was doin about 140 when it went & didn't realise till we come down to about 20 a minute or so later
Propa pooped me panties seein flames coming through the vent ! ! !
Oil was igniting on the turbo/manifold !

the main reason for the mirror image ones, are for cars with air-con as the hard pipes run here and make fitting the standard breather really tricky.
it performs exactly the same as the standard breather...i had one on my old saff

Jus thought I'd mention it cos I'd hate to see that happen to yours ! Think I might of been a little over zelous on the tightening tho (even tho I thought I was being gentle) & cracked it !
Ryan,
GGR stuff is the best isn't it !
I'm after a GGR Dump Valve but don't wanna pay GGR money
So if anyone knows someone who's sellin one ? ? ?

Ryan, did you see what Tony said bout the breather system in the Turbosystems thread ? ? ? I personally thought they were probably the best, maybe I was wrong

i think the only arguement is at what level the oil is returned into the sump, nothing with how the setup breathe from what i read.
maybe wrong though.
the spec R one and GGR one are virtually identical though?

i've run one for 7 ish years on my TT, bolted straight to the turbo with out fail.
and it gets removed at least every 2-3 k miles for a clean.

jb you we are quite happy with the ggr one we just modify the catch tank and give it an oil return back to the sump and an additional breather pipe from tank to seperator and convert it to dual port venting to atmosphere .
Take a look at the snow storm pics on the "where did the turbosystems cars go " thread look at the number of pipes on the catch tank, plenty of other breather systems to nick the ideas off in the gallery section of our web site
