In my new job I have come across this...


SPARK PLUG COOLING

I have seen fans fitted to "an engine" that blows air jets on too the plugs
ceramic stem to aid reduction in tip temperatures.
The idea being that it reduces detonation thresholds !!

Also seen a water cooled version too !!!


Both of these are in comercial/profesional applications !

Any one got any thoughts/ideas or examples ???

Very good idea, sounds almost impossible to implement in a car engine though, especially aftermarket.
