Do you have to let anyone know if you add a partition (stud wall) in a room and add a door?

Also whats the regs on ventilation? This room is going to be a study.

Not unless its listed.

If you do a search on the internet you can get the online versions of the building regs which will give you a brief idea.

Ventilation wise as long as it has a window with trickle vents and the door is not a sealed door- such as a double glazed door you should be ok ventilation wise.
