Take it back to the place you bought it from. They are legally obliged to either repair or replace it.

Don't let them fob you off with a so called 12 month warrenty and that you have to get in touch with microsoft.

The 'red ring of death' is 3 red lights around the round button on the front of the console.

I just got mine back from having this problem fixed. It took about 3 weeks.

They send a box and everything you need to send it to them, including the tag for the box. Just follow the instructions and it is dead simple.

Oh yeah....you have to call them first and have them send you the box.
The whole process costs you $0, but you will have to wait about 3 weeks once you send it off for repair.

Also, you have to take ALL of the bits out of the console, including the hard drive, but its very easy.
