Default Rally Driving Day - Anyone done one?

I'm looking at this one:

http://www.rallydays.co.uk/PPRS_full...experience.htm

As you get to drive a Mark 2 Escort and an Escort Cosworth.

Has anyone on here done one? What did you think?

Are there any more local to Essex that offer the same experience? Just that the one above is in Wales!

They werent full day things like that but I did one wayyyy back for my 18th at Brands (eee gods that's 12 years ago!) and 5 years ago at Oulton Park and both times I drove Escort Cosworths. I'm not sure but Oulton Park might still have the Cossies there, but I know Brands don't.

They were really really good fun and worth the money spent. The instructors were friendly, helpful and always pushing you to do more but never anything more than what you were happy doing. The one I did for my 18th I stalled the bloody thing 4 times before I went anywhere, but my excuse was I was driving the tatty family Austin Metro automatic at the time... I spun it too... weeeeeeee!

Nope, but you could rob a golf buggy and make your own rally stage round the park!

Did that a few years back...

You will spend all day driving the MKII Escorts round a small muddy/slippery track and then get a short slow go in cossie round the rally track and the day finishing with a full chat rally style passenger ride in the cossie round the track which is awesome.

I enjoyed it and would recommend it but don't expect mush driving in the cossie....

I did the Silverstone one last year, they were in MK2`s, was really good, learnt how to drift a car it's not as easy as you think

TIP.

DON'T go to one thinking you're the bees knees, you'll make yourself look daft, they was a guy on ours he thought he was this and that, bigging himself up, when he got into the car and on the course he was no better than any of us..

No worries of that mate. I'd never claim to be a good driver despite having done quite a few track days. I prefer to keep quiet and try not to look like a fool!

My parents got me a day at silverstone rally course for my 21st a few years ago. Fantastic day in MKII's. Thoroughly enjoyable and gave me a real buzz for rallying. Keep meaning to do a full weekend one in the welsh forests but never quite have the time or money.

Be careful of some though as my mate did one which was going to be in escort cossies and he was thoroughly disappointed as there weren't really allowed to push the car at all, whereas we used MKII and really gave it some. Great fun!!!!

i did one in mid wales 'the forest experience'

run by the Higgins family (british rally champs)

Mk2 escort gravel car. was a pretty good half day.
but I cant compair it to another one as its the only one ive done..

the full speed forest stage the instructor takes you on is pretty eye opening mind!!!
