Not sure what you mean mate? on HD TV's they come with one or two HDMI sockets, you have to buy a HD lead to connect it to another device which has HD input, i dont think you can use HD without the dedicated HD lead.

Sorry if i got the wrong end of the stick and thats not answered your question

mine is a 40" samsung, sitting directly in front of my sofa.
Like what has been said, after a while a 32" can look small. My cousin wishes he got a larger screen instead of a 32"

The screen size you choose should depend more on viewing distance. We sit around 2.5 metres from our screen, so our 32" set is great. I wouldn't want any more than 37" for our room layout. IMO, bigger than that needs at least 4 metres between you and it.

How high up the wall is that?

I've noticed no-one has asked, when you get one of these things how high up the wall you want it on should it be?

we HAD a 32" crt, which was massive

then i bought a 42" plasma, which was massive in comparrison

and now we've got a 50" plasma, which makes the 42" look teeny tiny

but it's about the biggest you could get away with, it's almost as wide as the chimeny breast give or take 3 inches either side and suits the room down to a t

when i get the time to sort the wiring out, which should be son, i'll post a pic for you all to marvel at it's glory

unless someones wants to pm me an email address to put p the pic i took theother day of thrush on jerry springer

it depends on a number of factors
you idealy want the middle of teh scrren to be in teh middle of you line of sight, but i've got a small child who runs about the place which is why the telly is as high up as it is (50" plasma and the top of it is about 6'6 off the deck hanging on the wall)

and so is everything else

the main problem you will encounter other than the mounting, is were to put all the wires, as there are SOOO many, i've got 13 inputs and already have a dvd recorder, the sky box, the amp, the xbox360, the ps2, the computer and another dvd player hooked up and the wiring is a bit pants to be honest, so look at getting it either channeled through the plasterwork or hide it beihnd something else

i personally would go for the bigger option unless your room is tiny (bare in mind what christian said about viewing distance) as you quickly get used to the size of the new screen.

heres the previous owners 32" CRT TV set up in my living room

and heres my 42" Plasma TV in the same room

i much prefer the larger screen

my tv is mounted onto my chimney breast.
It has then had a frame built to extend it outwards to enable the tv to sit flush with the front face of the wall.

All cabling has been put inside the chimney directly behind the tv.
All my rear surround speakers cables are coming up from under the floor under the wooden unit that has sky, dvd etc.

in terms of height, the bottom of the tv sits level with my floorstanding speakers. which is around 1m.
I would have prefered it a bit lower , ideally eye level, but at that height , it allows me to install an electric fire if the wife wants it.
