It's that word there that won't stand up in court though....

Playing Devil's Advocate here - I'd like to see the girl found or justice done, but think some balance is needed to this post hence making my points....can't go hanging someone because of "possible" "maybe" "perhaps" evidence

Would hate to be the parents here if the rest of the UK share the same views as most on here. Innocent until proven guilty is how I thought our justice system worked?

Thats not at all true mate, been loads and loads of cases of murder with no body found.
Really? I didnt realise that. I just cant see how anyone can be charged with 'murder' or 'manslaughter' without evidence that they have even being killed.

As was said in the other thread you can't believe everything that comes through the media. The papers are very good at making people into heroes and villians and while people can make up there own minds lots of people are easily influenced.

There could be reasonable explainations for the DNA personally I doubt they would move her body when being watched constantly by a media storm that they have created theirselves.

Some things about the case are a bit odd doh

yesterday the sun was all for them being innocent
now they have gone into "lets cover our arses just in case they are guilty" mode
it's a fucking joke

on the other hand, you are all talking as if they are going to be tried here, but they've already got some top legal bods invovled to stop them being extridited to portugal and tehy are also tryign to find a way to get the maddie fund to pay for them

the coppers in portugal have already bugged their hotel and looked at all their emails and listened to all their phone cals and thats why they've changed tatics

apparently

and finding 2 bits of blood in teh car 25 days after she's dissapeared would suggest that something is a bit more than fishy

"Bodily fluids - not blood - matching Madeleine McCann's DNA have been found in the car hired by her parents, according to sources.

The sample was taken from the boot, where the spare tyre is kept.

It had an 88% match with the missing four-year-old's DNA, sources said.

Police searching the car also found so much of Madeleine's hair that it could not have been transferred from a blanket or clothes."

Explain that one then?

while the police are trying to pin everything on them, are they still actively searching for Madi?
Are the Mcans still going to fly around the world and spread awareness?

If they had killed her and had the body in the boot, the boot would be full of DNA, not just a bit of it.

I hope to god they didnt have anything to with it, but things are stacking up against them.

the body fluids are the tpe assciated with a decomposing body so thats that sort of sorted then

and they are going to be diging up a 300 metre stretch of raod that was laid just after she vanished

so they ain't sittin gon their laurels doing jack shit about it

the only problem is, without a body, you can't really say they've off'd her, but the unofficial official police line of enquiry now is that one of the parents (mother) accidently off'd her and the father and some of the other party helped to hide the body and cause ths ruckuss that ensued

pure speculation mind yu, but it's a good punt at an answer a any i've read about ebfore

Typical.

You have got wonder why they were allowed to go though? Dont get me wrong iam almost certain they did it but where are these facts coming from that the hair was found in the boot/defo blood etc...?

The reduced sentance shite only applies in this fucked up country.. The portugese wouldnt let them off with a 2yr sentance would they? (as lets be honest here a 2 yr sentance IS a let off in my eyes)

They wont have to go back to Portugal I'd bet money on it...They are rumoured to be trying to get the use of the Maddie fund money to pay solicitors to fight extradition already (bbc news dinnertime today)

This country will put them away for 2yrs...then they will come out under false names all protected from society and able to live again...unlike if they stayed in Portugal...Coming back here looks to me like a massive admission of guilt.

I feel sorry for Maddie though...and the other kids who arent going to have a normal life after this shit...

how many people here with some very severe views on what may have happened, and what should be done with people involved, have even the slightest actual knowledge of anything at all in this case except what they've read in the papers and watched on TV?....

Let's hope none of you ever end up on the wrong side of the media..

Before you all start jumping on the religion crap i am 100% atheist and no matter what is said to me its a crock of crap and yes ive analysed and studied all faiths and its just early politics short and simple religion was a way of controlling people.

Fuck me some knowledgable folk on here! Cant understand why your not all detectives or secret services or something All of police work should just be handed over to the papers, why bother with evidence etc.

Im not saying they are innocent, but not also saying they are guilty. Imagine though if they are innocent what they must be going through? I do agree though they have shown no emotion to losing a daughter at all. Something ISNT right, but that doesnt mean they are killers either. Lets see the outcome before hanging them!

And joking about it FFS a litle girl has gone missing and not found and people joke about it...Same people joking about it who criticise others for far less meaningfull matters cunts

Agree with the other stuff you wrote

I personally am not yet convinced either of them have anything to do with. I reckon there is a massive twist to it all which one day will come out - hopefully sooner rather than later to bring this to a conclusion.

while i can understand the points you've made, and they are all valid, we are accustomed to believing what the papers and media report as they aer really our only "official" source of the case
so when you have such a swing as everyone saying "poor little parents" on monday, and then finding out that there is actual crediable evidence as supported by our very own dna testerers in the uk rather than those in portugal, the mdeia have very suddenly done what the mdeia do best, and that is changed direction all of a sudden and now the daggers are out

look back through major events and historically, the mdeia make up the peoples minds long before anything is actually prooven in court

take oj simpson for example, everything was stacked against him on the evidence sid of things, but the media portrayed him as a gentle giant who would never commit those crimes, and when the prosecution fucked up so badly* there was no option but for the jury to find him innocent, the media all of a sudden turned against him

they only write stories to sell papers, the world is only intrested in what makes money and hype sells papers

i've said from about day 3 that i thought the parents had done it, and until a jury finds them innocent and clears them without probably reason for any doubt to remain, i will stil believe that they were respinsible perhaps not for her death but ultimatly for her dissapearance

*for the record, the case was building against him as they could proove that he had a set of shoes that matched those foot prints found at the scene and he also purcahsed a pair of gloves which he wore a few days prior and were never seen again
these gloves were then produced as evidence and he admitted buying a pair of gloves matching their description and then the error was made, he was asked, by the prosecution, to put them on to show they were his size, and they didn't fit (probably because they were leather, had been out in the sun and rain and had shrunk with all the tests that had been conducted on them, but "if the gloves don't fit, you must acquit" as the man said)
then there was the dna tampering that went on, the mislabeled vials, the fuck ups that created mroe dna which they were going to test and the contamination of the original source of the dna (don't know what it's called but once they have an idetifiable dna strand they can replicate it to create more of the same so that you don't have just one base source which is rapidly diminishing with which they have to base all the testing upon) and also the fact that the socks found with the dna on them had had the blood dripped onto them while they were folded up as the splatter pattern went through one side, out the other, and then onto the floor and the biggest factor being that the arresting office who "found" all of the evidence was (possibly) a member of the kkk and had, on at least one occasion beforehand, planted evidence against a defendant to ge teh conviction and was also caught out lying under oath, to name but a few of the cock ups in the case

I can't see how they could have been stupid enough to put a body into a hire car 25 days after she'd died. I do think the mum had something to do with it....but I just can't see why people like them would do it...(both of them have medical degrees remember, they know a lot about DNA transferance and how risky that sort of thing would be). Either that or they are so far off their rockers now through the stress of the lies that things are coming apart at the seams...I guess time will tell on that one.
If they did take her body in that car...the body won't be far away...as somebody would noticed the parents of the missing girl going on a pretty long trip to dispose of a body.

Remember the Soham murders though...who was quick to help out and speak to the media to form himself a cover as a worried citizen?...Ian Huntley...it would be a plausible defence tactic to try and drum up media attention to get the onus away from you...
