Thats been suggested quite a few times, but PF isn't actually a club, so there is no infastructure within to actually organise it... How would it be funded? Who would marshall it? Who would orgainse the liability insurance? etc etc etc...

having just come back from malta where they got mk1 escort cossies running under 10's i would HONESTLY say have the thing at Hal Far in malta

not to mention being in the company of people who cant import fast cars so have to make slow cars fast by making engines FIT other cars !!!

i was with a bloke who has just built a peugeot 106 and fitted a toyota starlet 1300 turbo engine to it !!!

done all the fabrication work as he said to import fast cars is big cash to register them

i feel we sometimes ignore the hard work of cars these days... we mod cars and not build them anymore

mk1 escorts FOUND in old peoples garages and fitted with V8's and cossie lumps with there OWN hands too,,, thats what fast cars should be about

besides the bright blue sky and 38 degree temps from 8am to 7am also mean its less chance of the bufty window lickers to be washing there cars in the rain

theres NO noise regs there,,, CAUSE NO FUCKER LIVES THERE

no cars get nicked as they gonna have to get a boat to get there too

national day in Malta !!!,,,, sounds crazy but they REALLY love there cars !!!

they also love st george and love cossies !!!

I actually like Croft the way it is. National Day may be a not bothered to go show for me. If people can't commit to traveling long ways to get to a show (which is supposed to be the pinnacle of all the RS shows) then why should I? Besides, I like that I was able to walk in and out of the pit area/wall without having to show a pit pass

Mallory Park would be far too small.

Oulton Park are not allowed to hold trackdays on a Sunday, only race events.

Silverstone... no passengers allowed on track, also very expensive.

to be fair Ł180 for a weekend trck day isnt expensive in summer

however, I would expect lots of sessions and no stunt car malarky

there is a bookatrack next wednesday for oulton and its Ł260 midweek!

The discounted Nat Day track prices used to be one of the things that i considered it worth being a member of the club for...

I'm fast running out of reasons to continue being a member

Cadwell midweek in June for us was Ł169 open pitlane. 70 cars, NO queing to get out at any time, not even first thing. More track time than me or the car could handle in one day!

You can book a trackday at Dono now for Ł139 during the summer and you don't get charged Ł20 for a support vehicle. Don't forget the Ł180 was 2 summers ago!

I forgot about the extra charges!!!

Crazy money to enter in the first place, then even more for a support vehicle, and IIRC last time at Donno, you got a paddock pass with your track place, but had to pay Ł5 or Ł10 each for additional ones

Its just not worth bothering with

Yes Croft was very good value, Donington prices has always been more expensive as the track is more expensive to hire, just as Brands & Silverstone are more expensive still.

The only downside (and it is minor) that I could see at Croft was the general public allowed pit access, bit busy in that area and I saw a few people flapping about children around the pit area, one 'helper' removed his bib and threw it to the floor in a paddy!

If your team could have a crack at organising nat day at Donington i'm sure you could make it a great success, that's why I have asked the question in the members secion of the rsoc, but as usual, nobody is answering.

Hopefully we can make some BIG changes at the AGM as i'm sick of this ailing club now.

I also still think that Donington is the place for ND, but as people have already said, not at those prices. It was nearly Ł250 in 2006 with track pass, support vehicle and entry.

OK some tracks cost that anyway but isn't ND supposed to be subsidised?

Croft is D&D's show and the last one of the year so let's keep it that way

I didn't get to ND this year as I was in mid rebuild but the car park location did look v grim and I've seen comments that there were lots of stones. Someone kicked one by accident and nearly hit a concourse RS1600 - you can't show with conditions like that.

Agree with Dingy here, not that I went to Croft but if you put ND there it will be the kiss of death. The Derby/Durham group have a sorted formula so leave it alone.

One of the upsides for me going to ND at Donny was the vendors Croft had a few but not like ND does (which is a good thing considering I'm Skint and the Exchange rate is horrible for me! )
