Why? Phil will never drive the car any futher than the end of his driveway, therefore not requiring the ABS turning off

Better stick that up your own arse cause its the torque thats dropping slowly off as the revs increase, and the power rising, which is exactly how pretty much all engines always are, in fact its actually going against the laws of physics for the power to drop and the torque to rise as revs increase, its not actually possible on ANY engine.

Fantastic curve though, bet it drives fantastically well

It was a very bright day and I was concentrating on the road, so didn't see that the light was on .

The fact that it left 200m long skid marks proves without any doubt that 1. I was driving like a twat.
2. The ABS was turned off.

I'm not proud of it, and totally deserved the 9 points I got given .

You kept the pedal mashed for 200 yards without easing off?
Hasnt anyone ever explained cadence braking to you?

We all make mistakes, but 200 yards?

I tried that, and tried to position the car to go around the round-a-bout, but as soon as I came off the brakes and tried any steering input, due to the speed, it pitched the car sideways, so I made a decision to hit the roundabout head on, rather than risk barrell rolling.

In hindsight there were plenty of things I could have done to avoid the incident, but as it happened so quickly, I had no time to think about putting any other ideas into action until afterwards...

If you tried cadence braking how were the skidmarks 200 yards long?

Or did you mean they were on/off for that distance.

Totally understand what you are saying though about the decision not to steer etc though.

you have been registered here for as long as me...... you don't have to be in the in crowd! just have to pay attention....

Which leads me nicely onto Phillipa comment. I thought it was a funny joke and knowing Bill, I bet he would too. So please fuck off and carry on having sex with your cruely mutilated canine!

Despite the black marks, the wheels were rotating until perhaps the last 30-40m, where they went to deep black lines as the Performance Friction pad temps ramped up so that even releasing the pedal, I had more braking force than I started with .

Yes, I tend not to drive like a twat anymore.

Nova? Do you mean Saxo?

Neither of these were caused by driving like a twat - and it's singular .

Also, given that these were all quite some years ago, I think it only fair that we mention the time you rolled your Mk1 Escort into your neighbour's garden .

did you seriously get 9 points Mike?

Looks a nice car phil, but thats one fucking wierd set up, 8 yellows on an 8 injector manifold? bit of a pointless and expensive way to do things? least its ready for a nice T4

Yes, for "driving without due car and attention". Apparently I would have only got six if I had pleaded guilty, but I stupidly tried to fight it, so they gave me an extra three for my trouble AND told me why I had got an extra three as well, just to rub it in .

The only saving grace is that because it took so long to go to court, they were only on my licence for just over 18 months, as the points were valid from the time of the accident, not the conviction .

I've been a good boy since then and have a completely clean licence now.

Okidoki.... but it was hardly a little bump...

It was the Mike Rainbum who you may have heard off, writing off what was at the time one of the worlds fastest Saffs into a roundabout after doing 170mph with 3 other PF members on board.....

Hardly the smallest of incidents
