Default ERST and FRST turbo oil drain?

Where does the turbo oil drain go on a ERST and FRST? Is it returned back into the block or the sump and where abouts?

Has anyone got any pictures that show it?

It goes to the front of the block right in the middle but at the bottom edge above the sump gasket.

I believe the FRST has a threaded boss and the escort a push fit boss.(with jubilee clip)

I think the fitting has to be above the line of oil to increase the rate in which oil will drain/flow back into the sump.If submerged then the oil could collect and back up.

As long as the fitting is above the line of oil i cant see why not.

the turbo technics kit for the XR2 had a sump drain brazed into the sump above the oil line, worked a treat

I must be damn luck then as I've never replaced my rubber pipe on my S2 and I've owned the car for 11 years. Each time it's been off I'v einspected it and everytime it's gone back on. Damage on these hoses is usually down to people swinging on jubilee clips rather than using the proper spring clips.
