Escort MK4 gearbox casings???????
Are all the early ones the same In other words will all the insides of my S2 box fit in another casing 
e.g a xr3i or diesel one ect..?? i know the later box had a larger lower diff bearing anyone know if the earlyer ones are all the same??? need to know A.S.A.P

The diffrences to look out for are:
Later ones had larger diff bearing
later ones had larger mainshaft bearing
Some had the gate inside the box and sone under the gearlever.
some had a bolt on clutch are (early) and some had a welded clutch arm. Ther bolt on arm is larger in diameter.
Apart from that the cases are the same.
