Very Nice, but an extra five hundred quid and that's what I paid for the M5 with just 34,000 miles from new.

Fuck about mate 11mpg - I thought you said you were tight!

I get about 20 mpg (just under) out of the M5, and I dont drive that softly!

Wise ref the bills though - when I bought mine, you could still get one that had the extended BMW warranty without the stupid excesses on each claim (£250!!!! )

As far as I am concerned, the only way to buy the E39 sensibly now is from BMW, which comes with a proper warranty without stupid excess for 12 months!

Things that go wrong include VANOS, MAFs (just done my MAFs), and other stupid electrical thingys

Mind you - mine is now ace, as got almost everything done on the warranty last year! Hurrah!

Depends if you count the time taken in performing engine rebuilds

people going on about it being over priced....

isnt 14k for an old escort cossie over priced???

it's all about the rarity of it and the rare mods.

i think that BM is nice, whoever buys that wont be buying it for its value, they'll be buying it to own a nice rare motor thats been well finished.
