that is going some. good on him in some ways for using the car to it's full potential - too many people have cars capable of so much more than they use
without knowing the exact location and traffic / weather conditions, it's hard to comment on how dangerous we think it might be imo

It was done on a long straight dual carriage way at 2pm in good weather, you can see it on google.earth. I bet the people who commented against him have never even done 170mph, let alone a hundred; so what makes them think its so unforgiveably dangerous? Theres probably a few people doing 170mph on their way to work in Germany right this second and all of the aniamls within a 20 mile radius haven't dropped dead

I live in Abingdon and know a few ppl that have been killed on the a420, I dont understand why ppl speed like this on that road as it goes from 2 lanes into 1 with some pretty nasty blind bends.
This guy could of killed some1 or maby himself, I know we all got roads in our area that we think are safe to drive fast on but this guy took the p1ss abit considering he worked local to the area and would know of the amount of crashes and deaths there are on that road each year due to ppl just like him that think its a race track.
He will go to prison for sure so maby it will give him sometime to think about what could of gone wrong that day if a car would of been coming the other way or if there was already a crashed car in the road.

this country's legal system is fucked up though. he will go to jail for speeding yet on the news the other night a paedo who abused about 20 kids, 1 was only 18 months old and he walked free from court 
how the fuck can that be right, how is speeding worse than that

Perverting the course of justice in nearly all cases IS jail time
Its an indictable only offence so can only be heard in Crown Court. Dangerous driving, which is the only way you could go to jail for speeding, as sentencing laws do not allow custody for soley speeding, is an either way offence. Meaning you can have a trial in the Magistrates Court.
So if you were in the situation of doing 172mph, and also being charged with dangerous driving, I'd go guilty to the speeding but not guilty to the dangerous driving, and hope your nice defence solicitor can argue your poor driving amounted to only meeting the standard for driving without due care and attention. Which is I believe how that police officer zapped at like 160 in that Vectra managed it.

The A420 as it passes the outskirts Kingston Bagpuize is a Dual Carridgeway, quite straight, quite quiet, a good road for caning your car, but fair few laybys for parking camera vans in.
NO houses etc near it, fields either side, 99% of the junctions are roundabouts so even people pulling out on you is mega slim, even more so as it 2 lines per direction anyhow.
Not exactly super dodgy going it there.
Because the straight isnt long enough at Silverstone to manage that speed

I have a yamaha r1 and a saph cossie too but i dont use any of them, you see i just like to collect nice things that can go fast but do not use them and abuse them.
If my cars do get driven i make sure im in the pas seat and that it is only to and from mot's
Again all i said was i know a few ppl that have been killed on that stretch of road and to travel at speeds like that is outright stupid on any public road not to mention the fact that the a420 has claimed more lifes than pretty much anyother a road in the uk.

looked it up on the map and have just realised we've got an office in kingston bagpipes
so i've done that road a few times and yes, you can get silly speeds out of it and yes, it's dual carriageway for ages
he still broke the law though so you can't get away with that, whatever next, pedoes on the streets, mental nutters carving people up, gansta's at carnival.....................

ive got a vid of me doing 145 in the runabout and its done it a few times ( on my long driveway obv )
but i aint NEVER done 150 whilst chatting on the phone,,, done 130 but that was just a " babe cant talk, ill call ya back"
oh and i was done for doing 85ish whilst looking through my phone book to call stu@MSD,,,,, didnt seem to matter i slowed down to make the call to the police,,,, mind they thought i was reading a text message
