It ISNT a normal bar code scanner.
In some places within europe ....for example on posters etc....
you have an INFORMATION BARCODE (this isnt the proper name cant remember it LOL)
When you scan this type of code, it may have things such as web
addresses phone numbers, more info etc....

I got told abit back by a guy I met at Oulton (Tony Rodriguez) abit back that people were looking into making somekind of software where you could buy or order things from a say billboard from your mobile phone, not sure how like, Barcode scanner could be the beginning

My mate just so happened to be boring me with this yesterday Basically you can encode messages in a picture and then can be picked up by the scanner, like a quick way of getting contact details for businesses or somthing

Tried it with the page address for this thread.......and the N95 got it in seconds!!!

Yeah, pretty much useless in this country, but it does have a purpose at places which actually use the code for encoding websites and phone numbers etc. Tried scanning random things and managed it to succesfully scan something from my shopping. Of course it came back with a load of meaningless numbers cos it wasn't a semacode but i was interested to see if it could actually scan anything!
